Wetback

Highly offensive slur against Mexican and other undocumented immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. References crossing the Rio Grande and the wetness of the crossing. The term was also used in Operation Wetback, a 1954 U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service operation.
